Board of Directors

Marion Faust, MBE (Chair)

MarionAs Governor and later Chair of Governors at Brampton Manor School (and now Chair of the Board of Directors of Brampton Manor Trust), Marion’s total and unwavering commitment to the school spans almost three decades! Her children attended the school and since then, Marion has given of her time very generously and has been a strong advocate for the young people. She believes firmly that all children can achieve regardless of their socio-economic background. As a result, she has presided over our rapid and sustained improvement, making us the best school in Newham and one of the highest performing schools in the country. Marion has been at the forefront of championing and helping to foster links between business and education in Newham for over two decades. She is an ardent believer in the role that businesses can play in the wider curriculum and in helping young people to gain worthwhile life and employability skills. In this regard, she has helped to recruit leaders of successful businesses to join the governing bodies of local skills, provide work experience/placements for young people and to ensure that the in the rapidly growing finance and business economy in East London, local children and young people are well positioned to secure those jobs.

IAN PORTER (Chair of Resources & Audit Committee)

IanIan Porter is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is currently the chief executive of 15billion-ebp, an organisation involved  in delivering quality work and career related programmes for schools, employers and young people. Ian brings with him, a considerable wealth of experience in the public and private sectors and joined the board of Brampton Manor Trust in January 2017.

 

CHIRAG PATEL (Director)

ChiragChirag joined the Trust’s Board of Directors, bringing a wealth of experience of more than two decades within the banking sector. Chirag is currently a Managing Director at HSBC Group, co-running the Global Foreign Exchange and Precious Metals Derivatives Trading business.

 

JULIAN TAYLOR (Director)

JulianJulian is the Senior Partner (or Chair) at Simmons & Simmons, an international law firm. He continues to practise as an employment lawyer. He is also a co-founder and trustee of the Pennies scheme, the digital charity box. Julian has previously been a governor of a primary school, a trustee of a youth volunteering charity and, much earlier in his career, a teacher.

MATILDE VAQUERA-MOSQUERO (Director)

Maty is a modern foreign languages teacher with over 30 years teaching experience. She started her teaching career at Brentwood County High school from where she joined Seven Kings High School initially as Deputy Head of Languages/Head of Spanish and later as Head of Languages. She subsequently joined Little Ilford School as Head of Languages; joined the extended SLT as an Associate Assistant Headteacher and latterly as an  Advanced Skills Teacher for Assessment for Learning. In this capacity, Maty supported various schools within the borough with improving pedagogy and pupil outcomes in languages and other subject areas. Maty is currently a substantive member of the SLT  as an assistant headteacher and plays a crucial role in helping to provide strategic leadership, including budgeting/financial management of the various areas that she is accountable for. Maty is a great believer in comprehensive education and a strong advocate for disadvantaged pupils. She has an impressive and proven track record of public examination success and will undoubtedly be a welcome addition to the board.

DENNIS HULL (Director)

Chirag

Dennis is an energetic IT transformation leader who is passionate about delivering continuous improvement and benefits. Proven experience working in the Telecommunication industry creating multi-million pounds of benefits across AR/AI, Cloud Services, Data, Fibre broadband, Optical Services, IOT, Network Intelligence, Voice, Mobile and UK Regulatory projects and programmes.

Dennis understands that children are the next generation of societies professionals, role models and leaders and is enthused to share his experience to shape the future. 

PETER WHITTLE (Director)

Chirag

Peter Whittle is a vastly experienced school teacher and leader with over 40 years of experience working in Newham schools. He was previously Principal of Langdon Academy and latterly worked as an Associate Principal for the Trust. Peter is passionate about the transformative power of education and is a strong advocate for promoting equality of opportunity for all students.

 

Dr Dayo Olukoshi, OBE (Executive Principal)

Dr Olukoshi was the headteacher of Brampton Manor School until April 2011, when it converted to Academy status and was appointed the Principal of Brampton Manor Academy. The school has enjoyed tremendous growth and success under his leadership and in 2012 and 2018, Ofsted rated the school as outstanding in all categories. Brampton Manor Academy was invited by the DfE to sponsor another local school, (Langdon School) and in January 2014, Brampton Manor multi-academy trust was formed, with Langdon Academy as an integral member of the family. In the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours, Dr Olukoshi was awarded an OBE for services to Education.
