Dress Code

For Girls:

Sixth Form students play a vital role in the smooth organisation of our community as well as providing leadership and role models for younger students.  Your conduct, including dress and appearance is an important part of this.  You are expected to dress smartly and formally for school in line with the guidance below.  You are expected to wear full school uniform to and from school.

• Plain, black, formal, business-like suit (tailored trouser or skirt).
• The suit skirt must match the jacket and be knee length (the material must not be of a knitted or jersey material).
• A formal plain white or light / medium grey sleeved shirt or collared blouse must be worn with a modest neckline (sleeveless/strappy tops, low necklines, pictures, patterns and logos are not allowed).
• Trousers must match suit jackets and are to be in a formal, tailored, business style (no shorts, tracksuit bottoms, jeans, cut-off styles, skin-tight trousers or leggings).
• Jumpers, roll necks, hoodies or sweat shirts are not permitted.
• Jackets should be blazer/suit style. No casual, leather or denim styles are permitted.
• Tights should be black, navy, neutral or flesh-coloured and of a plain design (no patterns).
• Black (flat or low heeled) formal shoes are to be worn. Any form of boot, plimsoll or trainer is not allowed.
• No bare midriffs or low tops.
• Discreet make up and jewellery may be worn.  Small ear studs and / or a small nose stud may be worn but no other facial piercings are allowed.
• No outlandish hairstyles (including hair colours that are not natural to the student/dyed hair). Patterns or logos must not be shaved or cut into hair or eyebrows.
• Only religious headdress may be worn.  Where worn they must be black.
• Coats need to be plain, black. They may be worn on top of the suit jacket for travel to and from school but must not be worn during the school day at any time.
• No t-shirts or polo shirts.  No logos or vivid patterns.
• The Brampton Manor Academy tie may be worn, but no other ties or neck scarves are allowed.

For Boys:

• Plain, black, formal, business-like suit.
• Formal plain white or light/medium grey collared shirt.
• Brampton Manor Academy tie.
• Black formal shoes - any form of boot, plimsoll or trainer is not allowed.
• Jumpers, roll necks, hoodies or sweat shirts are not permitted.
• Trousers must match suit jackets and are to be in a formal, tailored business style (no shorts, tracksuit bottoms, jeans or chino style).
• Jackets should be plain and in a formal, tailored blazer/suit style. No casual, leather or denim styles are allowed.
• Coats need to be plain black. They may be worn on top of the suit jacket for travel to and from school but must not be worn during the school day at any time.
• No t-shirts or polo shirts are allowed.
• No logos or patterns are allowed.
• Plain black belt.
• Discreet jewellery maybe worn. Small ear studs and/or a small nose stud may be worn, but no other facial piercings are allowed.
• Extreme hairstyles are not allowed (including hair colours that are not natural to the student/dyed hair).  Patterns or logos must not be shaved or cut into hair or eyebrows. 
• Turbans, where worn, must be black.
• Only religious head coverings can be worn.  Where worn they must be black or navy blue.
